- Gus just gave a talk for the Diatom Web Academy on chytrid parasites of diatoms!
- Alisha just returned from the Marine Fungal Workshop in Asilomar, California which was held on Tuesday, March 12th!
- Thiago is back in the lab after a multi-week trip to Brazil! While home, Thiago attended the X Congresso Brasileiro de Micologia and participated in the Brazilian Workshop on the Assessment of Fungal and Lichen Species for the IUCN Global Red List.
- Congratulations to Mary and Thiago for their recent awards!! Mary received the MSA Mentor Travel Award and Thiago received the Beverly Seers Graduate Student Research Grant!
- Check out the new chapter, "Metabolic Constraints and Dependencies Between “Uncultivable” Fungi and Their Hosts" Alisha just published with Dr. Rahimlou and Dr. James in The Mycota!
- Ben is back from Belgium, and, so far, it looks like him and Danny were able to successfully sequence their single cell samples!
- Mary successfully finished her field work in Peru! She is back in the lab, and we are excited to see the data, and pictures, from her trip. Ben is also soon returned from Belgium; upon his return we will have the whole lab in one place for approximately 3 days before Thiago heads abroad!
- In addition to its initial online publication, Danny and Alisha's article "Biological knowledge shortfalls impede conservation efforts in poorly studied taxa—A case study of Laboulbeniomycetes" is now in print and is the cover article for the Journal of Biogeography Volume 51 Issue 1!
